Raising the bar with a direct mail campaign for Close Brothers

Close Brothers Premium Finance provides payment solutions for insurance policies, and as pioneers in the field they needed to keep innovating. Until surprisingly recently all documents had to be posted, but a new digital service developed by Close Brothers allowed brokers to upload documents to a secure portal. Faster, easier and more efficient all round.


We just needed to make sure the insurance brokers, this project’s target market, knew all about it.

As we were solving a post-related problem we decided a direct mail campaign was the right approach: the brokers were used to doing things this way. We created a fun and effective mailer with a familiar digital upload progress bar which filled to 100% as the mailer was opened. The campaign was hugely effective, won a Silver prize for marketing at the Insurance Times Industry Awards and helped convert a large number of agents who had previously been unwilling to change to the new system.
