Reference catalogue design.

Harper Collins is one of the UK’s leading publishers. But their catalogue wasn’t space efficient. It didn’t allow for highlighting new or key titles. And it didn’t reflect the amazing creativity of the books within it. The Reference team asked us to develop something new.

The new catalogue needed a user experience approach. We asked a lot of whys and hows to understand how the team and customers use it. Then got to work.

We redesigned and regulated the reference system and created an extended bookmark which can be inserted anywhere to highlight specific titles.

The new approach saves space and brings the books to life.

Now Harper Collins have a creative reference catalogue that does justice to the amazing titles in their collection.

Working with Matt and the team was a pleasure as always. I worked with him in a previous role and when approaching this project, I trusted Matt to provide a fresh creative eye and create something both functional and beautiful. He spent time carefully reviewing the brief and working with us to develop an initial idea — providing thoughtful details and actively suggesting ways we could make it better — and produced a really gorgeous catalogue that we were proud to show clients at Frankfurt Book Fair. Would highly recommend for any creative projects.
